     The Prison Ministry Team (PMT) leads churches of the association in supporting ministry to the "men in white," those incarcerated at the French M. Robertson Unit, Prison and Correctional Facility, just outside of Abilene.  The PMT of the Abilene-Callahan Baptist Association supports the Field Ministers effort, a ministry involving the cooperation of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

     Incarcerated Christian disciples are carefully screened and qualified, then trained with a seminary education (124 credit hours).  They are then assigned to prison units, where they become "pastors" to those in prison (the men in white).   The Field Ministers at the Robertson Unit work under the direction of the prison unit Chaplain, with support from the Abilene-Callahan Baptist Association.  Their broad miistry includes:

* Evangelism

* Discipleship training

* Individual counseling

* Regular classroom instruction

* Conducting worship services

* Serving the needs of prisoners and their families

Please pray for the Field Minsiters of the French Robertson Unit.  Upon approval from the prison Chaplain, their names will be provided.
